Nancy Wendlandt is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience providing counseling and support to individuals. She actively seeks to connect with her clients, providing them a welcoming, supportive, non-judgmental space to openly express and explore. As a counselor, educator, and mother, she has an understanding of and appreciation for the numerous unique and complex challenges, pressures and opportunities that youth and young adults face. Nancy has a heart for coming alongside her clients as they navigate during this critical period of development and life transitions. Nancy desires to help parents find ways to engage empathically and effectively with and support their children, in what can be an uncertain but hope-filled process towards greater awareness and connection, prevention and healing.

Nancy’s Education and Experience

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Neurobiology, Nancy earned her Master of Education degree in Counseling from The University of Texas at Austin. She has over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents. She has provided counseling to individuals and facilitated groups, having worked both in community settings and with students at prestigious universities.

Nancy is certified in, and has applied experience in, utilizing various evidence-based assessments and tools to further self-insight for personal, career, and relational effectiveness. Nancy also has a background working with neurodivergent and special needs populations.

Nancy’s Clinical Approach

Nancy engages with clients from a person-centered, strengths-based approach, integrating appropriate modalities and solution-focused techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. She enjoys embarking with clients on the journey of exploration and her counseling focuses on the whole person and what each client brings, seeking to understand and collaborate with those she works with to empower, facilitate insight, and achieve growth.

She partners with her clients to identify strengths and goals, and helps equip them with tools and strategies for enacting positive steps and change that will serve them in the present and long into the future. Nancy knows that taking the step to engage in therapy can be difficult, but also how healing the process can be.
