As a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Specialist in School Psychology with nearly 20 years of experience in schools and clinical settings, Allison has worked extensively with children, adolescents, parents, and school staff. She is passionate about helping children, tweens, adolescents, and their parents navigate the complexities of life and the myriad emotions that are part of the human experience. She also aspires to help youth and their parents find solutions tailored to their individual priorities and goals, keeping the best interests of the client at the forefront of her work.
Allison’s Education and Experience
Allison Hamff holds a Ph.D in School Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin and completed her doctoral internship in psychology with Cypress-Fairbanks ISD. Prior to working as a counselor at a Houston private school for nine years, she worked as an LSSP in a suburban public school district for almost a decade. In addition, she has experience serving youth in inpatient treatment and community mental health clinics.
Allison’s Clinical Approach
Her clinical approach is rooted in evidence-based therapeutic modalities, namely cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused therapy, while also incorporating elements of person-centered therapy. She seeks to encourage and empower clients within the context of an empathetic and actively collaborative therapeutic relationship.

Her goal is for them to gain the awareness, insight, and practical ideas necessary to enrich their connection with their children, help their children thrive emotionally, and make a desired and permanent shift in the parent-child relationship.

On a Personal Note
Allison is the mom of two sons and one daughter. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, finding new recipes to try, spending time with her husband and kids, and playing with her family’s two rescue dogs, Benson and Coco.
